Brussels calls for solidarity in the face of record arrivals of migrants in Lampedusa

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, presented this Sunday in Lampedusa an emergency plan to help Italy manage the record arrival of migrants to the island. Ursula von der Leyen urged European countries to be more supportive in distributing asylum seekers and admitted that the plan will intensify control operations at sea.
