Tragic Murder of Two-Year-Old Boy Leaves Kallakurichi in Shock
KALLAKURICHI – In a horrifying incident that has left the community in deep sorrow, a two-year-old boy was found murdered and his body concealed inside a speaker box in the Tiruppalapandal village of Kallakurichi.
The victim, Thirumurthy, went missing on the 17th while playing near his residence in Tirukovilur. Frightened and desperate to find their child, Thirumurthy’s parents and relatives launched a frantic search throughout the area. However, their efforts proved futile, leading them to file a complaint with the Tiruppalapandal police station.
On the basis of the complaint, the police initiated a search operation. A foul smell emanating from inside the house raised suspicions, prompting Thirumurthy’s father, Gurumurthy, to meticulously comb through every room. It was in the room belonging to his younger brother, Rajesh, where an unbearable stench seemed to originate. Initially, Rajesh dismissed it as the smell of a dead cat or Peruchali, deterring any further investigation. However, when Rajesh later revisited his room, he made a horrifying discovery – the lifeless body of his nephew locked inside one of the speaker boxes.
Upon finding Thirumurthy’s decomposed body, his grief-stricken parents broke down in tears, sending shockwaves through those present. The police immediately arrived at the scene, retrieved the child’s remains, and arranged for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, suspicion fell upon Rajesh, leading to his arrest for questioning.
During interrogation, Rajesh confessed to strangling his own son and hiding the body in the speaker box. The ghastly act was reportedly motivated by a property dispute between Rajesh’s brother and sister-in-law. The heinous crime has left the entire region engulfed in sadness and disbelief.
Local residents have expressed their outrage and called for swift justice in the face of such a horrifying crime. The Kallakurichi police have assured the community that they will spare no effort in ensuring a thorough investigation and delivering justice to the innocent victim and his grieving family.
