The Association of Contemporary Art Galleries of the Valencian Community (LAVAC) inaugurates the season with the celebration of the eleventh edition of Abierto València. Event that is offered as one of the most outstanding artistic and cultural events in the Valencian Community.

As every year we will have the acquisitions from the Department of Culture for the “Best Exhibition” and from the Valencia City Council for the “Outstanding Artist”, which will be chosen by a professional jury that this year is made up of Nuria Enguita, director of the IVAM, Marta López Ricarte, Director of the Museum of the City, José Luis Pérez Pont, director of the CCCC, Ángels Miralda, critic and exhibition curator, and Julia Morandeira, curator, researcher, teacher and director of KADIST Paris.

They will also be awarded acquisitions from the Hortensia Herrero Foundation, the DKV collection, Gandía Blasco Group, Makma, the Juan José Castellano Comenge Foundation, the MARTE Contemporary Art Fair of Castelló, the La Escalera Collection, the Kells Collection and we welcome Biohub life science art collection , which joins the acquisitions program in this eleventh edition.

Cervezas Alhambra, through its contemporary creation platform, is celebrating the Cervezas Alhambra Award for the fourth time at the Abierto València with the aim of recognizing, disseminating and promoting the creations of emerging artists and the galleries that host them, to bring them closer to an audience. broader and contribute to the revaluation of the works. An award that will be chosen by popular vote through the network and will be awarded on the last day of the event, September 29, with a celebration open to the public in the winning gallery.

This wide range of contemporary art can be enjoyed starting Friday, September 22 in the different galleries of the capital, while at the CCCC the three galleries that are not based in the city will have spaces for their exhibitions; These rooms are the Espai Nivi Collblanc in Castellón, and the Alicante ones: Isabel Bilbao located in Jávea and Casa Bancal in Altea.

Abierto València wants to invite citizens and those interested in contemporary art and current artistic trends to enjoy the works of art, the spaces and the explanations of the gallery owners and artists themselves during those days.
