Tragic Incident: Woman Policeman Commits Suicide with Her Children near Madurai

Madurai witnessed a heart-wrenching incident as a woman police officer chose to end her life by throwing herself and her two children in front of a moving train. The incident took place near the Samayanallur area of Madurai district yesterday evening.

The bodies of the woman, identified as Jayalakshmi (30), along with her son Kalimuthu Raja (9) and daughter Pavitra (11), were discovered on the Madurai-Dindigul railway track. The Samayanallur police received information about the incident and immediately rushed to the spot to retrieve the bodies for investigation.

Jayalakshmi, a Grade-1 Constable in the Madurai Railway Police Division, had been on medical leave recently. It has been reported that she committed suicide during her leave by jumping in front of a train, taking her two young children with her. The reasons behind her extreme step are still under investigation by the Samayanallur police.

Officials stated that Jayalakshmi had recently been transferred to a different city, but had not moved due to her medical condition. Her husband, Subbaraj, works in a private company. The police are currently looking into whether family problems or the job transfer played a role in her decision.
