Nissan Ariya continues to strongly support the journey of Chris and Julie Ramsey
The expedition vehicle has already traveled more than 20,000 km

Adventurers Chris and Julie Ramsey, husband and wife, crossed the equator today on their first world expedition in which they are driving an electric vehicle from the North Magnetic Pole of 1823 to the South Pole in Antarctica.

With their Nissan Ariya prepared for the expedition, the couple has so far traveled more than 20,000 km, crossing the challenging ice of the Arctic Sea, melting Canadian ice routes and exploring North and Central America before reaching the equator in Quito , Ecuador.

Pole to Pole was conceived as the ultimate test for an electric vehicle, hoping to accelerate the adoption of such vehicles as part of the solution to tackling the climate crisis, while highlighting the positive action of people, communities and projects in the process.

Julie reflects on her adventures in the northern hemisphere: “It has been an incredible experience so far. “Our Nissan Ariya Expedition captures the interest of so many people on our journey and we have had the privilege of being welcomed and helped by the kindest and most incredible people, who embrace the positivity and hope that Pole to Pole represents.”

Chris shares his thoughts on his journey from the equator: “I set out to push the limits of electric vehicles and show the world the incredible capabilities they have. Our Nissan Ariya Expedition has worked very well; has not let us down and has generated a lot of interest among people as we move forward. It gives me confidence that we will be able to complete this expedition despite the challenging distances, terrain and temperatures we will face in the southern hemisphere. “Antarctica will be our toughest test so far, but we had the experience in our passage through the Arctic, from which we learned a lot and I am working on innovations that can help us reach the South Pole at the end of December.”

The couple will now face the impressive but difficult landscapes and climates of the southern hemisphere on their route to the South Pole, which they aim to reach by the end of the year.
