The Ministry of Health decided today (Thursday) to increase the scope of activity at the in vitro fertilization unit in Assuta Ramat Hay’il to 25 oocyte retrieval operations per day. This, after an improvement in the unit’s activity, which was also found in the audit conducted in the unit.
As a reminder, the reduction of the activity of Asuta Ramat Hay’il was done after a series of unusual events in the in vitro fertilization unit, following them as well as after hearings and clarification conducted by the head of the medical division Dr. Hagar Mizrahi, it was decided in July to reduce and limit the activity carried out in the unit.
At the beginning of August, after an external consultant was appointed and an improvement in the unit’s activity began, and in order to prevent harm to the patients, it was decided to allow a gradual increase in activity in the unit.
The discussion held at the Ministry of Health included the composition of the hearing committee and examined the various aspects of the issue while considering the best interests of the patients.
