The applicant said that the day before she was waiting for public transport with her daughter, they were approached by a woman with whom they subsequently struck up a conversation. In a conversation with a Baranivka woman, the fraudster learned about health problems and convinced that all this was a consequence of a conspiracy and the problem could be solved through a certain ritual.
The woman believed and invited the unknown woman to her apartment. Subsequently, she gave the stranger a gold chain with a pendant and her daughter’s gold earrings, which were allegedly necessary for use in the ritual. The women then arranged to meet the next day, but no one ever showed up.
Criminal investigation officers established the identity and location of the defendant. She turned out to be an unemployed 61-year-old resident of the Baranovichi district. The stolen property was confiscated and returned to the owner.
Investigators have given a legal assessment to the actions of the defendant. A criminal case has been opened.
