On September 19, the situation in Karabakh became tense. Baku announced the start of “local anti-terrorist measures” and demanded the withdrawal of Armenian militants from the region. The separatist regime in Karabakh accepted the ceasefire proposal of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. The Armenian service of RFE/RL reported this with reference to the information headquarters of the regime in Karabakh.
The population is being relocated
The Russian peacekeeping contingent evacuated at least 2,000 civilians from the dangerous regions of Karabakh. More than half of them are children. “Interfax” informs about this with reference to the Ministry of Defense (MoD) of Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the peacekeeping contingent is performing tasks in the Karabakh territory.
