Police and rescue services have been dispatched to Täby, a suburb located north of Stockholm, following reports of an explosion. Authorities were alerted after receiving a call regarding a loud noise heard in the area.
Ludvig Sääf, a line operator at Greater Stockholm’s fire service, confirmed the incident stating, “The caller must have heard a bang, and we are on our way to the scene.” The police have also received similar reports from a caller.
Police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl stated, “They are out investigating the matter.” However, upon arrival, the patrols were unable to find any evidence of a detonation.
Prior to this incident, the police had received information earlier in the evening about the presence of fireworks in the vicinity. The authorities are currently working to determine if the reported explosion and the earlier fireworks sighting are connected.
