Milan, 23 September. (time.news) – A journey that begins in Miami and ends in a rock concert, opened by the live performance of Quavo from Migos. Welcome to Philipp Plein, where the catwalk is a modern sparkling and colorful amusement park, along which an army of models and skaters move on dizzying platform heels. The references are all to the 80s: from the hits of Dead or Alive, A-Ha and Cindy Lauper, to street imagery.
“The collection is exciting because it was inspired by an explosion of graffiti – the designer tells time.news backstage -. It’s very summery and my inspiration is mainly denim: there’s a lot of denim, including tailored denim.” On the catwalk there are mini suits and ‘graffiti’ long dresses, taylored dresses, denim with crystal applications, tuxedos and lots of sparkling, blazers with jacquard applications and flames on the lapels. Cool and vibrant.
“There are a lot of summer dresses – continues Plein – we celebrate the mood of rock and roll and gothic chic. It is also a collection that talks about luxury chic, an entire journey with an 80s flavor that begins in Saint Tropez and Miami and ends in a rock concert.”
This year the brand reaches a fundamental milestone and celebrates 25 years of activity. “It’s an important anniversary and tonight we’re all celebrating together – assures Plein – the reason why we exist and are strong are our customers, this makes us so strong today. They are part of our family.” As the lights dim and the show begins, the atmosphere becomes festive and colorful in the Allianz Cloud, with a huge carousel placed in the center of the arena.
