The search for little Da’Angelo Manning (17 months old) had a tragic ending. Less than two kilometers from his parental home in the American state of Louisiana, the boy was killed by a wild animal.
Around 10 a.m. local time Monday morning, Claiborne police were notified that Da’Angelo and a four-year-old child were missing. Immediately all alarm bells went off. Officers and volunteers responded to search for the children.
They found the older boy half an hour later. He was unharmed except for a few scratches. But shortly after noon, a gruesome discovery occurred: Da’Angelo’s lifeless body lay further down the grass.

According to police, it is clear that the child died as a result of an attack by a wild animal. An autopsy will determine which animal killed the almost two-year-old boy. Louisiana includes lynx and bears.
On Facebook, mother Angelica Marquez mourned her terrible loss. “On my birthday I found out I was pregnant with you. I was totally surprised and so happy that I got you. We loved you so much and to me you are still my baby.”
‘Snoopy’ was Da’Angelo’s adorable nickname. He had helped his mother through difficult times. “I hate that I didn’t hold you one last time, kiss you and tell you I love you, son.” Marquez wrote that she didn’t know how she would cope without him.
Family members have started a fundraising campaign to support the hard-hit family.
