With the 1-1 draw against Flamengo, at Morumbi, in the final of the Copa do Brasil last Sunday (24) and the consequent national title obtained, São Paulo qualified for the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2004.

It will be Tricolor’s 22nd second participation in the continent’s main tournament, of which the club is three times champion (1992, 1993 and 2005), three times runner-up (1974, 1994 and 2006), as well as semi-finalist on four other occasions (1972, 2004, 2010, 2016).

The guaranteed participation will also mark the raising of two records for the team: it will be the 59th international competition in the history of São Paulo – no other Brazilian club has competed in so many official international tournaments.

It will also be São Paulo’s 22nd consecutive year to compete in an international championship – once again, a record among Brazilian clubs.
