The Ministry of Livestock gave more than 75 small and medium-sized livestock farms in Nahuizalco, in Sonsonate, 5,000 Cratylia argentea plants, to establish their protein banks to feed and nourish livestock, lowering costs and increasing milk or meat production.
According to Vice Minister Oscar Domínguez, to date, the program has provided more than 60,800 forage plants of Cratylia argentea, 600 bags of seeds of said shrub and 17 tons of cutting grass seeds.
“This visit is not only to finalize the first phase of Cratylia argentea deliveries, it is also to ensure support with technical assistance, bovine genetics and marketing spaces. We want producers to be profitable,” said Vice Minister Domínguez.
