The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) receives the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Mihn Chinhthis Monday, 25th, at 11 am, on Itamaraty Palace. The last visit made by an Asian country leader to the country took place 15 years ago. Lula and Mihn Chinh will discuss trade, investments, science, technology and innovation, technical and educational cooperation, defense and renewable energy. Another highlight of the meeting should be issues between the Mercosur and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean), which is made up of ten countries in the region. In fact, the PT member and the Prime Minister of Vietnam must sign educational, defense and agricultural cooperation agreements. In addition to the meeting and lunch with Lula, scheduled for 1 pm, Mihn Chinh will give a lecture on the relationship between Brazil and Vietnam, at 5:15 pm, also at the Itamaraty Palace.

This Monday, Lula will still meet, at 9 am, at Planalto Palacewith the ministers of Civil House, Rui Costayes General secretary, Márcio Macêdoyes Secretariat of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilhayes Social Communication Secretariat, Paulo Pimentain addition to government leaders in the National Congresssenator Randolfe Rodrigues (AP), in federal SenateJames Wagner (PT-BA), and Chamber of Deputies, José Guimarães (PT-CE). The minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Servicesor vice-president Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), will also be present.
