Exactly today (Wednesday) 5 years ago we said goodbye to the giant creator and singer Meir Banai, A painful farewell to Israeli culture and to Israeli life in general. Meir did leave us, but his words, the melody of his heart and his rare and penetrating voice directly to the heart and soul, remained with us.
Last August, a one-time evening was held where they met on one stage, family, friends and travel partners, to sing, play, tell, remember and love the artist and the person who was.
“Rain” is the first song to come out this evening performed by Amir Dadon.
Dadon said on the subject: “Meir Banai has always been and still is a model and inspiration for me to be an artist and a person, whose mouth and heart are equal, whose melody and lyrics combine simplicity and sophistication, high emotion and direct gaze. Always love him and proud to sing this beautiful song in his memory.”
