Vice President Félix Uloa receives the “Central American Parliament, Francisco Morazán, Grand Cross” Decoration

The Vice President of the Republic of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa Jr., received from the Central American Parliament the Order and Decoration “Central American Parliament, Francisco Morazán, in the degree of Grand Cross” for his work and integrationist vision. This recognition is added to the designation of him as delegate for Regional Integration matters, granted by President Nayib Bukele through Executive Agreement No. 294.

The President of the Central American Parliament, Amando Cerrud, highlighted the career of the Salvadoran Vice President and recognized his work in favor of workers’ rights, human rights and Integration.

Likewise, Vice President Ulloa, in his speech, stated that he received the recognition on behalf of the Salvadoran people and President Bukele, whom he considers an integrationist at heart.

On the other hand, he reaffirmed his firm commitment to Integration and called for joint collaboration to give continuity to the Proposal for a Constitutive Treaty for the Central American Union that he presented during the LVI Ordinary Meeting of Heads of State and Government of SICA in Santiago Los Caballeros in December 2022. In this context, Mr. Ulloa emphasized that the proposal has evolved thanks to the contributions of other States and that it has already been incorporated into the Central American Integration System for analysis and monitoring.

Finally, he referred to the Protocol of Reforms to the Constitutive Treaty of PARLACEN, highlighting the importance of this organization as a Central American pillar and the need to continue strengthening this regional entity through the formation of the Ad Hoc Team that will be in charge of monitoring said reform proposal.

For his part, the Secretary General of SICA, Mr. Werner Vargas, supported the position of Vice President Ulloa, underlining the importance of moving towards the Central American Union. In addition, he outlined the numerous challenges shared in the region, such as climate change, water scarcity and others, which can be addressed comprehensively through joint efforts.
