The Russian company Yandex introduced a new service, Smart Web Security, which protects web applications from DDoS attacks. The technology is based on machine learning algorithms and is integrated with a captcha function that checks whether the visitor is a bot.
Smart Web Security allows you to block complex attacks by intruders that imitate user behavior as much as possible. The service is based on Yandex’s internal Anti-Robot technology, which protects the company’s services from DDoS attacks, thanks to which the service constantly undergoes additional training on real traffic.
After the initial check by algorithms, the service can redirect to Yandex SmartCaptcha, which provides additional protection—this will also help avoid false positives. Smart Web Security is currently available free of charge upon request to a limited number of users. In the future, the service may include WAF technology for traffic filtering. Smart Web Security is already integrated with other Yandex Cloud products.
