State Duma deputy spoke about the danger of being Russian in Kazakhstan

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Chepa, commenting on the situation in Kazakhstan, recalled that back in 2014 it became dangerous to call himself Russian there. According to him, the multi-vector approach has led, unfortunately, to a certain lack of organization and instability.

He told in an interview to the Telegram channel “Radiotochka NSN” that Kazakhstan is afraid of two powerful states, Russia and China, which border on it. And this led to the fact that Russians were expelled from Kazakhstan.

“Now, especially after the well-known events of 2014, being called Russian, it has simply become dangerous to do Russian business in the country,” Chepa stressed.

At the same time, he noted that over these few days in January, the attitude towards Russian has deteriorated significantly. According to the deputy, many Russians were turned away by their Kazakh neighbors. The situation stabilized only after the first plane with CSTO peacekeepers arrived in the country.

“This suggests that our positions there are weak, and Nazarbayev made a bet on Great Britain,” Chepa explained.
