DEPOK – Video containing the action of a man riding motor while lying down on Jalan Margonda, Kota Depok , went viral on social media. The man in the black T-shirt was riding a Honda Vario 125 motorbike and was not wearing a helmet.
The video, uploaded by the @depok24jam account on Instagram, has been viewed more than 511 thousand times. You can see the man is very relaxed riding a motorbike with one hand waving downwards.
The man seemed relaxed controlling his motorbike and opening the gas with his foot. “Life is tired again. “Look at those riding hot motorbikes like this,” wrote the caption in the video.
You can see that the man’s motorbike was swerving slightly to the left and right. The dangerous thing is that the man was not wearing a helmet. In fact, traffic on Jalan Margonda is quite busy.
It is known that the action of the man who was riding a motorbike while lying down was apparently subject to electronic ticketing. A ticket confirmation letter has also been sent to the appropriate address on the motor vehicle registration plate (TNKB).
“We have issued a ticket using the ETLE device installed in Margonda. “A confirmation letter will be sent to the address according to the TNKB,” said East Jakarta Metro Police Head of Traffic Police Commissioner Multazam Lisendra, quoted from NTMC Polri, Tuesday (26/9/2023).
Multazam appealed to motorists to be orderly in traffic for security and safety on the road. He also reminded drivers who violate traffic rules that they will be prosecuted.
“Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation has regulated that every person who drives a motorized vehicle on the road is obliged to drive his vehicle reasonably and with full concentration (Article 106 paragraph (1) of Law 22/2009),” he said.
Based on Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation, there are several types of violations that will be subject to fines. Especially men who ride motorbikes while lying down, which can make other drivers uncomfortable.
One of them is stated in Article 291 paragraph 1 which reads, “Every motorbike rider or passenger who does not wear a national standard helmet will be punished with a maximum imprisonment of 1 month or a maximum fine of IDR 250 thousand.”
