Jamshedpur: Search for land for Tatanagar station expansion and beautification has started. The Railway Engineering Department is preparing the record of the land around the station along with the map. Chakradharpur Divisional Railway Manager Arun J Rathore is expected to come to Tatanagar in two-three days.

Along with the DRM, there will also be members of the architect agency selected for the station remodeling work. This will prepare a blueprint for expansion and beautification of the Railways in Tatanagar. With this, inspection will be done from station portico, parking, salon, parcel siding and washing line to Chaibasa bus stand, so that there is no shortage of land to make the railway station the city center of Jamshedpur. Along with shifting the parking to the other side of the road, a plan has also been made to remove the parcel siding, guard-crew lobby and washing line. Experts say that the station can be expanded till Gudri Bazaar. It is known that during the inspection of Tatanagar station in August, South East Zone Railway GM Anil Mishra had informed about the rejuvenation of Tatanagar station in two years.

More than Rs 400 crore will be spent

According to the plan of the Railway Board, more than Rs 400 crore will be spent in the remodeling of Tatanagar station. With this, preparations are being made to provide airport-like facilities to the passengers at the station. There will be a new platform, multi-storey parking, shopping mall, cinema hall, subway, fountain, park, indoor game center and other new constructions in the station. On the other hand, there will be lift and escalator facilities on every platform of the station. A new counter and restroom is to be built towards Burmamines. From this, survey of the land till the goods warehouse turn has already been done. If needed, Railways will ask for land from Judco, because Railways wants to make such arrangements in the station that passengers do not have to go out for any need.
