Colombian soldiers shoot down 20 suspected members of the FARC dissidents

L’Army of Colombia has killed 20 alleged members of the dissidents of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) during a military operation in the Cauca region. Operation Thunder has also resulted, so far, in “17 brought to justice” and “17 captured”, nine camps dismantled and the neutralization of 20 mined areas, in which there were 600 anti-personnel mines, according to announced the same Army in a statement.

Operation Thunder has the participation of more than 200 Colombian military personnel, among whom no casualties have yet been reported, and who have managed to “retake” the Micay canyon, where the guerrillas had been present “historically” and where ‘have dismantled “hundreds of hectares of illicit crops”.

The operation, in which helicopters, planes, drones and boats have participated, aims to “detect and affect the main routes and corridors of mobility” of the guerrillas, including their profits derived from “narcotics trafficking, extortion and the illicit exploitation of mining sites».
