The Local Police of La Línea has proposed to secondary schools the creation of mailboxes to fight against cases of bullying, harassment or other types of behavior, in collaboration with the students. The police initiative is called “Local Police Friendly Mailbox“and needs the approval of the institutes.
The project consists of placing mailboxes in secondary schools in which students, of anonymouslythey could report possible cases of bullying, absenteeism, harassment, retailing of narcotic substances or any other problem that may arise within the educational community.
It is Friend Mailbox would serve as direct communication channel between victims and police authorities, as well as social services. The Local Police highlights that this is an activity that has already been developed in many municipalities in Spain with extraordinary success.
The initiative would have a double aspect, one preventivewhich could be developed in coordination with the municipal Education delegation, through the Municipal Educational Offer, in which information can be offered to students about this type of behavior in collaboration with the departments of Social Services and Citizen Security, and a second , of character executiveonce all the information provided is available, acting accordingly with the application of the existing protocols for this purpose for each specific case.
