Emergency services and soldiers rushed to the scene to provide assistance. Ambulances were seen carrying wounded individuals away from the scene to the nearby Hamdaniyah general hospital. Witnesses described scenes of chaos and panic as attendees sought safety amidst the chaos.
The fire investigation team arrived at the scene on Wednesday morning to determine the exact cause of the catastrophe. In light of this unimaginable tragedy, Iraq’s Prime Minister has declared three days of national mourning as the country mourns the loss of innocent lives.
Iraqi officials, including Hasan al-Allaq, the deputy governor of the Nineveh region, expressed their condolences to the families of the deceased and offered support to those affected by this heart-wrenching incident.
