According to a press release issued by the Department of Medicine and Public Welfare on the current Corona impact in Tamil Nadu: –
In Tamil Nadu, 17,934 people have been confirmed infected with 17,898 foreign and 36 from foreign countries.
The one-day impact, which stood at 1,489 on January 1, has now increased to 17,934. In Chennai, 6,484 people have already been confirmed infected and the incidence has risen to 7,372.
The number of people undergoing corona treatment in Tamil Nadu has risen to 88,959. The number of people receiving treatment for corona increased from 75,083 to 89,959.
A further 4,039 have recovered from the corona while 27,21,725 have been discharged so far.
The death toll from the corona has risen to 36,905, with 19 more dead. 12 died at government hospitals and seven at private hospitals.
