This Thursday the story of Luis (Jesús Barranco), the monster, and Lucía (Lucía Juárez), a teenager who drowns in a cocktail of misunderstanding, drugs, self-destruction and rebellion, premieres at Naves del Español (Madrid). That is the story, the slit, that uses the duo formed by Andrés Lima and Alberto San Juan to be able to inquire about today’s youth. This newspaper was able to attend one of the rehearsals prior to the premiere and spoke with these two theater men who began their joint journey in the company Animalario at the end of the 90s.

Luis, although his name is never said on stage, is a murderer. He lives in any neighborhood of any Spanish city. He sees the young people gathering in the park, watches them and spies from afar. During the day, he is a dog with a collar, a guard at a juvenile center. When he leaves work, he dresses as if he were part of a black and white film, like a character in a film by director Max Ophüls from the 1930s to the 1950s. He abhors his status as torturer and jailer, and practices escapism. Lucía, on the other hand, clings to a huge stuffed animal that she adored until recently. She is already 15 or 16 years old. She can’t stand her parents, she takes drugs, argues, hits herself, self-harms, lives glued to a cell phone and her loyalties are those of her friends.
