It has been clear for some time that Caren Miosga is saying goodbye to “Tagesthemen”. Now her last appearance on the show is approaching.
It has been clear since June that Caren Miosga will give up moderation of the “Tagesthemen” after sixteen years in order to take over the political talk on Sunday evenings from Anne Will (57). The gap that Miosga leaves in the “Tagesthemen” will be filled by the current “Sportschau” presenter Jessy Wellmer (43).
Nobody was at the “Tagesthemen” longer than Caren Miosga
Miosga has been working at NDR since 1999 and has presented the media magazine “Zapp” and the program “Title Thesen Temperamente” on Erste. Since 2007 – she was Anne Will’s successor here too – she has moderated the “Tagesthemen” and, according to the station, longer than any other presenter before her. Among other things, she received the Golden Camera in 2017 and the Grimme Prize in 2021 “for her distinctive moderation style and her persistence in interviews.”
“Caren Miosga has always impressed the Tagesthemen with her precise classifications and her persistent and approachable interviews,” says NDR director Joachim Knuth (64) on the 54-year-old’s “Tagesthemen” farewell. He adds: “She won’t let herself be fobbed off.” That’s exactly what he’s looking forward to starting in January at the political talk on Sunday evenings, in which Caren Miosga can “best demonstrate” her many years of experience with political interlocutors.
