The “Orlando Castellanos” Special Prize is announced on the 62nd anniversary of Radio Havana Cuba and consists of a canvas print of the first portrait that the Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamín made of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, on the night of May 6, 1961, in the headquarters of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.
As in previous editions, all Cuban radio producers will be eligible for this Award, as until now, as well as radio broadcasters from all continents, who send their journalistic works in any of the languages in which Radio Havana Cuba broadcasts: Spanish, English , French, Portuguese, Creole and Esperanto.
The programs that opt for this Special Award must be sent to Radio Habana Cuba in digital format and must have a maximum duration of fifteen minutes, in any journalistic genre, but always before November 1, 2023.
The vast legacy of Commander Fidel Castro is the central theme of the Award.

All participants will receive the 2024 pocket calendar, illustrated with the portrait of the Andalusian guitarist Paco de Lucía, made in Quito by the Ibero-American Painter, which will be presented in Havana on Thursday, December 21 at around three in the morning. afternoon at the headquarters of the Oswado Guayasamín House Museum, in the Historic Center of Havana.
