Users reported that Discord was unstable in the morning. When trying to join the site, some received the message “Sorry, you have been blocked”. Downdetector, a site that monitors user complaints about instabilities on platforms, recorded an increase in complaints about the network from 8 am (Brasília time) , with numbers above normal until 10am.
What happened
Discord has confirmed errors and communicated that the cause is unusual traffic.
We are investigating the issue. We are experiencing unusual traffic spikes, which are causing users to be temporarily blocked. We are working to mitigate this issue.

Discord confirms dismissal of 4% of employees
Another company in the technology sector has begun a process of dismissing employees: around 4% of Discord’s workforce was laid off, as part of the company’s internal restructuring process.
Around 40 employees lost their jobs. They worked in sectors such as marketing, design and partnerships. Discord confirmed the layoffs to the Business Insider website and stated that the internal restructuring project is focused on the company’s long-term growth.
