On January 13, the scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, Roman Vilfand, announced that dangerous weather awaits a number of Russian regions in the coming days. He also promised that on January 14 in the Ivanovo region and in the Moscow region there will be heavy rainfall and snow drifts.
On January 12, Vilfand said that on the old New Year, temperatures below the climatic norm are expected only in the south of Western Siberia, but on January 15 there will be a sharp warmer there. According to him, the coldest weather on New Year’s Eve according to the old style will be in the Omsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk regions and Krasnoyarsk.
