At least six people have dead and 15 others are missing after the collapse of a mine in the town of Chegutu, northern Zimbabwe.

The country’s Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development, Polite Kambamura, has said that a government team sent to the site has established that the mine collapsed around 10:00 a.m. (local time) and caught 34 miners underground, as reported by the television channel ZBC News on its account on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter.
Of the trapped miners 13 managed to escapeleaving another 21 underground, and the rescue services continue working to rescue the 15 people whose status is still unknown.
