The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, has stated that he has “many questions” about the “self-amnesty” raised by the Catalan independentists. Likewise, he has advocated for the intervention of the Constitutional Court if Congress approves it.
“We have many questions about what the independentists are raising. Don’t they consider it immoral that they themselves vote for their apology, a self-amnesty? They vote for themselves. García-Page has stated that there is talk of amnesty at present, but that in the future it “could be proposed for corruption and other matters.”
He defends that, “even in the event that Congress approves it, before it comes into force the Constitutional Court will have to analyze it because the consequences of seeing Puigdemont entering and even running for elections and that a ruling could then come constitutional against, it would be incommensurable”.

“I want to trust that the central positions of my party will continue to be the defense of the Constitution and unity, because it guarantees equality,” he warned. The regional president has insisted that there is “a lot of information” missing regarding this possible amnesty and currently “a lot of confusion” has been generated.
He has warned that “whoever wants to break unity” does so with the intention of “having a separate life or privileges.” Likewise, he indicates that “it is not bad” to have “healthy competition” between each territory.
Page trusts that Sánchez will resist “as much as he can”
In this sense, Page trusts that the acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will resist “as much as he can” to the pro-independence parties forcing him to govern with “a straitjacket.”
He believes in the idea that “any scenario is possible right now”, although he adds that in the negotiation the pro-independence parties “are going to end up going back a lot” in their requests for a referendum and amnesty.
Defend the “equality” of the State of the autonomous communities
The three regional presidents have agreed to defend the “equality” between territories and the “success” of the State of the autonomies established by the Constitution, against those who seek to “break” Spain. They highlight the “success story” that the Magna Carta has been in establishing the State of autonomies.

Alfonso Rueda has maintained that “the voices that speak of recentralization are very minority” and has advocated for “advancing equality” between autonomous communities, which is “what has allowed the harmonious development of the country.” FernandoClavijo has pointed out that “the problem of playing something that has been a success” is knowing “where we want to go” and has stated that the “political context” is not appropriate, that the debate “has not occurred because there is a great agreement to improve”, but because “some want to leave Spain”.
