Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Sedan in Manatee County

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. – Tragedy struck in Manatee County on Saturday afternoon when a motorcyclist lost his life following a collision with a sedan. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the crash occurred on U.S. 41 (14th Street), north of 66th Avenue West.

According to the FHP, the motorcycle was traveling northbound in the left lane at a high rate of speed. Meanwhile, the sedan was heading south on U.S. 41, positioned in the left turn lane north of 66th Avenue West. As the sedan was attempting to turn left onto a driveway at 6513 14th Street, it crossed paths with the oncoming motorcycle.

The impact occurred when the front of the sedan collided with the right side of the motorcycle. Tragically, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan suffered serious injuries and is currently in a stable condition at a nearby hospital.
