The amusement park remains the second most visited in 2023, behind the giant Disneyland but ahead of Puy du Fou and Futuroscope.

Entertainment, thrills and the whole world of comics by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. This is Parc Astérix’s recipe for attracting more and more people. And the French, in search of entertainment, have been numerous in crowding the aisles of the amusement park over the last twelve months. Between October 2022 and September 2023, 2.81 million people have passed through the doors of the famous amusement park. Enough to represent an increase of 6% in one year.

For the park director, Delphine Pons, this increase is linked above all to the inauguration of a new zone, the Toutatis festival. The latter, spread over three hectares, required an investment of 36 million euros. “It attracted a lot of “revisitors” : faithful people who came back to discover the new thing», confides Delphine Pons to West France . To continue this momentum, the director is also considering a development plan for 2033 with new hotels, accommodation, entertainment, attractions and restaurants.

Attendance records

Thanks to these attendance figures, Parc Astérix retains its second place among the most visited parks in France. It is thus behind the giant Disneyland and its 9.93 million visitors for its main park, according to estimates from the Theme Index Museum for 2022. Added to this are 5.34 million visitors for its Walt Disney Studios.

Puy du Fou remains in third place with more than 2.5 million visitors since its annual opening in April, a record for the Vendée establishment. These are 200,000 additional visitors compared to the 2022 season. The Futuroscope, located near Poitiers, is also increasing its attendance in 2023, with 2 million visitors, compared to 1.91 million last year, according to West France.
