The close to 3 million workers of the Public Administration have reasons to be happy this October, a month in which, predictably, will see a 0.5% salary increase reflected in their payrollagreed with the Government, whose collection depended on the Harmonized Consumer Price Index (IPCA) will exceed 6%a fact that was confirmed last Thursday.
The negotiation between unions and the Executive was closed with the agreement that the possible increase would be retroactive from January and would materialize in October, although it was necessary for the Ministry of Finance to meet with the unions and to approve it in Council of Ministers the increase could be delayed until the November payroll.
Another possible increase in the salary of public workersalso of another 0.5% and conditional, will materialize at the end of the year if the Spanish GDP reaches 2.1%, something quite probable based on the forecasts managed by the national government.

In addition to these increases, Administration workers had already achieved this year a fixed increase in your salary of 2.5% and the promise of a new update in 2024: a fixed 2% and an additional 0.5% if, again, in October 2024 there was another increase in the harmonized CPI for 2022, 2023 and 2024 above 8%.
These salary increases respond to the attempt to compensate for the increase in inflation recorded.
