Manel Solanas, recognized by the camping sector with the Jaume Genover award

The Girona Camping Association has distinguished with the award Jaume Genover and Roig 2023 the entrepreneur Manel Solanas Salomó, owner and founder of the La Masia de Blanes campsite, for his career in the sector and for his involvement with the organization. The award, which is now in its ninth edition, was presented as part of the Girondins Camping Night held this past week in Lloret de Mar.

The president of the Girona Camping Association, Miquel Gotanegrava to appreciate the great work that entrepreneurs have done like Manel Solanas “who have allowed our country’s camping sector to be today a reference in the European field and stand out for its excellence”, he indicated.

The La Masia de Blanes campsite, with four generations at the helm, was created in 1959. The establishment, which occupies an area of 13 hectares, has 876 plots, which include bungalows, mobile homes, apartments and a spa, among other services. Most of its customers are Spanish, French and Dutch. Manel Solanas Salomó was initiated into the world of camping by the hand of his mother, Paquita Solomon, who was a pioneer and who started the business and received the first tourists on a plot of land located in an area of ​​pines next to the orchard and the family farmhouse. Manel Solanas has collaborated with the Girona Camping Association since the beginning.

During the same event, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board received the award Giro camping 2023which is now in its second edition, for its constant support of Girona’s campsites and for helping to promote a leading sector in tourism at European level.

Likewise, one was also delivered special recognition to the Firefighters of the Generalitat, for “the great task they carry out”, which were collected by the general director of Prevention, Fire Extinguishing and Rescues Joan Delort and the head of the Emergencies region of Girona, Jordi Martín. A new award was also announced, the Josep Suñé Sabadí award, which aims to distinguish professional teams from the world of camping.
