After the remarks of her former husband Fernand Lopez on his own conviction for domestic violence in our columns this Sunday, the person concerned spoke on her Instagram account to restore the truth about the attitude of the man who is also the former coach of MMA fighter Cédric Doumbè.

At the end of his quick victory against Jordan Zebo at the PFL on Saturday evening, Cédric Doumbè initially accused his former coach of domestic violence. “It’s not Jordan that I’m fighting, we need to change the poster, it’s Fernand Lopez (Zebo’s coach) that I’m fighting,” he told the media present. It’s the violence against women that I knock out, it’s the one who hit his wife when I was in his room, and that’s the reason why I left his room. »

Reached this Sunday by telephone, Fernand Lopez spoke of his four-month suspended prison sentence for domestic violence: “My action is inexcusable. A human being, a man does not raise his hand against a woman. One day, I made this gesture. The gesture I regret the most in my entire life. I raised my hand against my ex-partner, a slap, it was a disaster.”

A version therefore denied this Monday evening by his ex-wife. She spoke at length on the Instagram account of her company specializing in the nutrition of high-level athletes. “I’m the victim plus my daughter who saw everything,” she wrote in the story. And I refuse to be made to appear as a violent woman and that the situation would have gotten out of hand. It’s wrong. I had zero reaction other than taking the blows. When I lose consciousness, it is my daughter’s cries, twice, that wake me up. So no, it wasn’t a slap in the face, and no, we weren’t an abusive couple. I sincerely loved the father of my child like never before. I put up with it all and took it all in. That’s why I still protected him years later and didn’t say anything. »

Fernand Lopez’s ex-wife continues: “He knows it and abuses this dominant position over me, over the media and over the entire MMA sphere which is also my sphere. But at some point I just can’t take any more of these attacks and this bunch of bullshit. So my point is not to victimize myself, I made choices, they concern me and belong to me. I’m not writing this to bring him down either, he does it very well on his own. My point is to bring the facts back for what they are and what they were judged for. I am not a woman of controversy, otherwise it would be known. But once again at some point: STOP. »

“An unfortunate tendency to settle with the truth”

This Tuesday, her lawyer, Maître Mokhtar Abdennouri, also provided details on the subject of “the defamatory accusations to which she was the subject”. He thus underlines: “Obviously, no credence can be given to the declarations of the one who claims to be the “king of French MMA”, as it can easily be observed that the latter has an unfortunate tendency to arrange things with the truth. Proof of this is with his minimum recognition of domestic violence, which he claims to have been limited to a “slap”, even though by judgment of the Bobigny criminal court dated September 4, 2019, Mr. Owonyebe Eloundou was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence of 4 months with probation, for having “voluntarily used violence, in this case by striking him several times in the face and strangling him”.

Maître Abdennouri concludes: “consequently, given the media coverage that the person concerned is trying to establish for his benefit, my client reserves the right to use all legal avenues at her disposal to put an end to these attacks damaging to his honor and consideration.”
