The Tata Group had yesterday signed an agreement to be the main sponsor of the IPL. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel has said that the Tata group will also be sponsoring the IPL from next season. Vivo had signed a contract worth Rs 2,200 crore for the IPL during 2018-22. However, Vivo left the 2020 season due to political issues with China. Instead Dream XI was the sponsor. Vivo was back last year. Vivo has decided to withdraw from this year’s contract.

The pre-season IPL mega auction is reportedly on February 12 and 13. The auction will be held in Bangalore. The BCCI has informed the franchisees about the mega auction. However, no official disclosure has been made about this. This news was reported by Crickbus.

The BCCI is targeting the IPL broadcasting rights for the next five years. 40,000 crore, President Sourav Ganguly said. Ganguly said the tender for the broadcasting rights would be called soon. Star Sports has acquired the broadcasting rights for the last five years for Rs 16,347 crore.
