France is not done with inflation. In September, consumer prices further increased by 4.9% year-on-year as in August, according to the provisional estimate from INSEE. Measured by the European HICP index, they increased by 5.6%, a percentage down 0.1 point over one month. In the euro zone, the decline is much stronger. The pace of inflation fell to 4.3% year-on-year in September, down 0.9 points from the previous month, according to Eurostat. A level he had not experienced for two years.

In France, energy, and in particular the rise in oil prices, is counteracting the calm that is emerging in other sectors. Over one month, however, prices fell by 0.5%. Food products are now benefiting from this slowdown.
