Luis Rubiales acknowledged in his statement before the judge that he tried to convince Jenni Hermoso so that they both came out publicly to ‘clarify’ the controversy generated by the kiss he gave her after the World Cup. In some audios to which El Español has had access , you can hear how the former president of the RFEF categorically denied the pressure, but acknowledged that both he and former coach Jorge Vilda tried to speak with Jenni Hermoso and her entourage to settle the controversy generated.

He states that everything started from a recommendation from Federation leaders who, in the middle of the flight back to Spain, saw that a controversy had begun to arise around the kiss. “They tell me, ‘it would be good if you went out’. There is a moment that I imagine they said to her and me ‘we have to go out, we have to go out’. So, it would be fantastic if the two of you went out together,” he explains.

The former president of the RFEF assures that they were urged to come out publicly, but “to continue maintaining what she – Jenni Hermoso – had already said before he spoke to her”, in reference to Hermoso’s words before a media outlet at the end of the World Championship about the kiss, when he downplayed what happened.

After that, he claims that he crossed paths with Jenni Hermoso and that he asked her ‘why didn’t the two of them go out’: “I told her ‘let’s say it again and put an end to this, which is going to hurt me a lot’. And she told me ‘I’ll pass, I want to enjoy the World Cup, I’m not going to make any more statements, if I’ve already said it, anyone who wants to understand it should understand it and anyone who doesn’t shouldn’t.'”

Already then, Hermoso refused to succumb to his request: “I told him, look, my daughters are here, they are suffering, I think that between the two of us we can put an end to this. He told me ‘really, presi, no.'”

Rubiales thus exempts himself from any type of pressure, and alludes to Jorge Vilda: “Vilda told me that she came from talking to her brother, that he was a reasonable guy, and that she was going to talk to her to see if it was okay. Well, with him We wanted to cut the mess and not everything that has been created. Something that was an anecdote that surely in terms of decorum was not appropriate, but there was nothing more,” he added in the room.

The former president of the RFEF thus denies that there was pressure, although he acknowledges that he urged Jenni Hermoso to clarify what happened. For their part, the Spanish team players Alexia Putellas, Irene Paredes and Misa Rodríguez have confirmed these pressures before the judge. During their appearances, the soccer players have recounted what they witnessed on the bus they took after the World Cup final, on the plane back to Spain and also during the trip to Ibiza that some of them enjoyed with Jenni.
