Acting to defend the rights of children and adolescents, Guardianship Councils have become bodies of great importance for conservatives and liberals, given the power they have as monitors and executors of public policies for the benefit of society.

With the advancement of the state’s ideological apparatus by the national political left, conservatives decided to mobilize to try to reverse the current scenario, making parents aware of the importance of electing counselors who defend the principles and values of the majority of society, which is Jewish- Christian.

As a result, last Sunday’s elections demonstrated an overwhelming victory for the conservatives, who won 70% of the elections in 22 capitals in Brazil. The numbers, however, provoked a wave of intolerance in some sectors of the secular press.

Federal deputy Bia Kicis, for example, highlighted the reaction of commentator Octávio Guedes, from GloboNews, who, when commenting on the conservative victory in the Guardianship Councils, blamed the mobilization of evangelical leaders, as if Protestants did not have the right to defend their own interests. , exercising citizenship.

“You don’t have to take your faith [para os Conselhos]”, said Guedes. “The religious issue must be debated without fear in this country, because there is a fear of appearing prejudiced against a certain religion. I see pastors who preach the gospel of hate.”

Distorted concept

The GloboNews commentator, on another occasion, made it appear that Christians cannot represent their own beliefs and values through conscious voting, electing advisors aligned with the principles of Christianity.

In other words, it is as if the concept of a secular State should prevent the election of advisors whose values are guided by the Judeo-Christian heritage, and not by the ideological liberalism of the left, for example.

“More than right and left, I also see a clash between the secular State and a religious State,” said Guedes. “The guardianship counselor is an assistant to the public school, (…) and the schools’ partners are the guardianship councils. It’s fantastic work, but it’s the work of a secular State.” Watch:
