A judge who has taken over his $250 million civil fraud case Donald Trump issued a “silence” order.

Judge Arthur Engoron issued the order barring Trump and any party in the case from speaking publicly after the former president posted personal information about a court official on Truth Social while the hearing was underway.

“Personal attacks on members of my judicial staff are unacceptable and I will not tolerate them under any circumstances,” the judge said.

This way neither side, neither the defense nor the prosecutors, will be able to speak to the media about the development of the case.

New York Attorney General Leticia James accuses Donald Trump of using false and misleading financial statements from 2011 to 2021 in order to close deals, obtain funding and increase his profitability.

James claims Trump owes at least $250 million in fraud, as she found during a three-year investigation that Trump inflated the value of 23 properties and assets by hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars.

The trial is scheduled to last until Dec. 22, though it likely won’t last that long, as the judge’s preliminary ruling “answered” the important question of whether Trump actually committed fraud. Now, the case centers on how much he will have to pay for it.
