Suman Madal Mehra from Rajasthan got married at the age of just 14. There was financial crisis in the family, but despite all these difficulties, Suman studied and became a nurse so that she could become self-reliant and today by becoming a nurse, Suman has not only become self-reliant, but is also running a campaign to help the destitute and sick people of the society.

We often feel bad seeing destitute people living on the streets. But hardly any of us takes any step to improve their life. One such person is Suman Madal Mehra of Rajasthan. Suman, a nurse by profession, is today no less than a messiah for the destitute sick people living on the streets.

Suman is running a shelter home named Manav Seva Ashram in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. Today, 50 such needy people live in this ashram who are away from their families and have no one to take care of them during illness. Suman is not only serving them as a daughter and mother but is also fulfilling all their needs, from treatment to food, for free.

In fact, Suman, who herself belongs to a poor family, has completed her studies as a nurse with great difficulty. Talking to The Better India, she told that she got married at the age of just 14. Due to this she could not complete her studies even though she wanted to. But Suman’s husband fulfilled her dream and through hard work, Suman got the degree of a professional nurse.

After which he started working in a hospital in Suman. Along with all this, she always wanted to do something for the needy people. He got the opportunity to fulfill his wish when a few years ago he saved the life of an unknown person who was injured on the road.

After that incident, Suman started visiting different public places of the city and treating destitute and sick people for free. She says that many people get separated from their family due to illness. Suman started treating many such sick people and reuniting them with their families. During this time, he also found some people who could not recover by living on the streets, they needed a permanent place and care.

Then Suman decided to build a home for these needy people on her own and this is how Manav Seva Ashram started.

Today Suman is doing this work with social help, due to which many helpless people are getting support. True, Suman proved today with her noble initiative that to serve others it is not necessary to have any relationship but to have humanity in the heart.
