Not only does this newfound freedom allow Copeland to film intro vignettes with Darby Allin on the streets of Seattle, but it also provides him with the opportunity to fulfill a long-held desire to wrestle in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).
The WWE Hall of Famer expressed his excitement about the possibility of wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom, NJPW’s biggest show held at Tokyo Dome. Copeland even mentioned a dream match against NJPW star Kazuchika Okada, showcasing his ambition and desire to challenge himself in the ring.
However, Copeland’s aspirations extend beyond NJPW. He listed several dream matches and potential opponents in AEW, including Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Miro, Claudio Castagnoli, Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, Adam Page, Chris Jericho, Malakai Black, and FTR, among others. The Rated R Superstar’s eagerness to face both new and established talent demonstrates his passion for the sport and his commitment to providing fans with unique and exciting matchups.
Copeland’s first AEW match is set for next Tuesday on Dynamite against Luchasaurus, coinciding with NXT’s airing, featuring his former rival John Cena. This highly-anticipated debut is sure to captivate wrestling fans worldwide and further establish Copeland’s presence in the AEW roster.
Addressing any possible animosity from his time in WWE, Copeland reassured fans that there are no hard feelings between him and his former employer. He emphasized that, despite going by the name Edge during his WWE comeback in 2020, he is still Adam Copeland at his core.
