The Federal Revenue released the numbers for this year’s Rural Land Tax (DITR) declarations. In 2022, the RFB received 5,858,157 declarations within the regulatory deadline. Therefore, electronic reception this year was 6,112 more declarations than last year. This represents an increase of approximately 0.10%.

People and companies that are owners, holders of the useful domain or possess the rural property in any capacity are obliged to present the DITR. The taxpayer must prepare the declaration using the ITR Declaration Generator Program and transmit it via the Internet.

Delayed DITR submission

Anyone who does not submit the declaration is subject to a fine of 1% (one percent) per month or fraction of delay, assessed ex officio and calculated on the total tax due.

If you were unable to submit your ITR declaration within the established deadline, it is essential to act promptly to regularize your tax situation.

Late delivery subjects the taxpayer to fines and interest, which can accumulate over time. See how to do it:

Access the ITR program: to start the late delivery process, access the ITR Declaration generator program made available by the Federal Revenue Service on its official website;

Complete the declaration: complete all the information requested in the program, including rural property data, information about its use, personal data and other required tax data;

Check taxes and fines: the program will automatically calculate taxes due and fines for late delivery.

Fines may vary depending on the length of delay and the amount of tax owed.

Darf issuance: after completing the declaration and calculating the fines, the program will generate a Federal Revenue Collection Document (Darf) with the total amount to be paid.

Make the payment: make the Darf payment within the deadline stipulated by the Federal Revenue Service. Make sure the amount is paid correctly, including both taxes due and fines.

The tax amount can be in up to four equal, monthly and successive installments, with no installment being less than R$50.00 (fifty reais).

Tax of less than R$ 100.00 (one hundred reais) must be paid in a single installment. A single installment or the 1st installment must be paid by the last day of the deadline for presenting the DITR.
