Moscow: As the conflict with Ukraine intensifies, the Russian Defense Forces have released a modified version of their strategic missile bomber aircraft, the Tupalov TU-160M. The bomber, nicknamed the “White Swan”, was reported to have made its maiden flight from Kazan Aviation Enterprise’s air base yesterday.
The aircraft made a test flight at an altitude of 600 meters for 30 minutes. The new version comes with about 80 percent upgrade work and device upgrades.
The White Swan is designed to carry out deadly weapons, including nuclear bombs, with precision, even in remote areas. The White Swan is the world’s heaviest supersonic military aircraft.
Russia’s latest move comes amid mounting U.S. pressure on them to withdraw troops from the Ukrainian border and escalating tensions with NATO over the Ukraine issue.
