Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Defense Minister Thabet Muhammad Al-Abbasi and his Turkish counterpart, Yasar Guler, stressed today, Thursday, the importance of cooperation in combating terrorism and border security.
A statement from the ministry said: “The Iraqi Minister of Defense, Thabet Muhammad Al-Abbasi, discussed with his Turkish counterpart, Yaşar Guler, issues of cooperation in the field of the regional military and defense industry, and the two sides stressed that” Iraq and Turkey enjoy strong historical and social ties, and they are two brotherly and neighboring countries living in… The same geography, and they expressed the importance of continuing cooperation with the joint steps that can be taken, especially in the field of combating terrorism and border security.”
The statement added, “Minister Yaşar Guler expressed during the meeting his happiness at hosting Minister Thabet Al-Abbasi in Turkey, and Guler offered his condolences to the Iraqi government and people, regarding the painful fire accident that occurred in the Hamdaniya district, wishing mercy for the victims and a speedy recovery for the wounded.”
