Bangalore: The party’s state president DK Sivakumar has announced that the four-day Congress march demanding implementation of the Megha Dadu project will be suspended.

Congress Pedestrian

The Karnataka government has decided to build a Rs 9,500 crore dam across the Cauvery River at Megha Dadu in Karnataka. A detailed project report for this project has been prepared and submitted to the Central Government for approval.

The report is currently awaiting the approval of the Cauvery Executive Commission. The Tamil Nadu government is pending a case in the Supreme Court against this project. Elections to the Karnataka Assembly are scheduled for next year (2022). That is why the Congress party has taken up the Meghadau project.

The Karnataka Congress party started its march in Meghadau on the 9th, urging the implementation of the Meghadau project with the aim of attracting the attention of the people. The state government has enforced 144 restraining orders in the Ramanagar district of Karnataka to prevent this trail. In defiance of the ban, the Congress party started the march as planned. But the police did not stop the procession,

ICourt condemnation

Did not follow social exclusion on that trail. The police did not take action against them. Instead the police have registered a case against the Congress leaders. On the one hand the corona spread is spreading rapidly. The corona impact in the state yesterday exceeded 20,000. In this situation, advocate Chandra Prasad filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court seeking an order from the state government to ban the Congress from marching.

The petition came up for hearing yesterday in the presence of a bench headed by Chief Justice Rithuraj Awasthi. Back then, that session raised various questions towards the state government. The session raised various questions, including whether the government had given permission for the pedestrian at this time when the corona was spreading, and why it had not taken action to prevent the pedestrian. The iCourt also condemned the state government. The judges ordered the government to file a report on the matter. The tribunal also ordered Congress to comment.

Government of Karnataka banned

In this context, First Minister Basavaraj held a video conference with senior ministers and senior officials, including the Chief Secretary, yesterday evening. It was decided to ban the Congress pedestrian. Accordingly, Chief Secretary Ravi Kumar officially ordered a ban on the Congress march. It was said that this order should be vigorously enforced by the concerned district administrations.

After completing the 4 day trek in this condition, we reached Ramanagar the night before yesterday. Congress executives including DK Sivakumar stayed there. Meanwhile, the Ramanagar district police went to his house in Kanagapura to issue a notice to DK Sivakumar regarding the ban on the Pathayathri. DK Sivakumar, who was there, refused to accept the notice issued by the police. Following this, the notice was pasted on the wall of his house and the police left.

Pedestrian stop

More than 1500 policemen were deployed in Ramanagar to arrest them if they started the march. More than 10 buses were parked at the ready to facilitate the arrest. The walk, which normally starts at 8 a.m., did not start until 11 a.m. yesterday. DK Sivakumar and Chidramaiah held telephone consultations with top Congress leaders.

In particular, Rahul Gandhi, the former leader of the All India Congress, contacted DK Sivakumar and advised him to suspend the Pathayathri as it would not be appropriate to hold the Pathayathri at this time as the corona is currently spreading. Following this order of Rahul Gandhi, DK Sivakumar announced at 12.30 pm yesterday that they would suspend their march in the interest of the people.

Exciting environment

At the same time he has announced that we will start the trail from Ramaganar as planned at present and complete it in Bangalore after the corona spread is reduced. Before announcing that the Congress would stop the march, First Minister Basavaraj asked Chidramaiah and DK Sivakumar to stop the march through a toy letter.
