Unusual ending “Daily Topics”: Presenter Caren Miosga was surrounded by colleagues during her last presentation of the ARD news program, and there was also a surprise.
The 54-year-old presented the “Tagesthemen” for the last time in the TV studio on the NDR site in Hamburg on Thursday evening after 16 years and will take over the Sunday talk from presenter Anne Will next year. With Miosga, the longest-serving “Tagesthemen” presenter is leaving the show.
Before, during and at the end of her last appearance, colleagues expressed their appreciation. “Panorama” presenter Anja Reschke did this before the show began, as did her colleagues from the stock market and the weather in the show. They all wished her all the best for the next step in her career. Jens Riewa, who spoke on the news portion of the show, presented her with a Snoopy figurine for her “infinite sympathy and empathy.”

When she said goodbye, Miosga said, among other things, to the camera about her successor: “Be nice to Jessy Wellmer, she is too.” Wellmer previously moderated the ARD “Sportschau”. It is not yet known when she will start on the “Tagesthemen”.
