The arrival of a cold front in the State of São Paulo starting this Thursday, 5th, is being monitored by the Emergency Management Center of the Civil Defense of the State of São Paulo (CGE). According to experts, the phenomenon should bring rain throughout the day, with intensity recorded in coastal municipalities.
Instability is also expected to affect the capital of São Paulo and the metropolitan region of the city of São Paulo. Accumulations of up to 50 mm are expected in the metropolis.
In the Vale do Rio Paraíba region, rains are expected to hit municipalities with medium to heavy intensity. This same situation must also be registered throughout the coast of São Paulo, the region of Itapeva, Sorocaba and Campinas. However, in the central, northern and western regions of the State, it may rain, but with less intensity.
Gusts of wind in the capital of São Paulo
Meteorologists also expect gusts of winds in the capital, greater São Paulo, the Sorocaba region and Vale do Ribeira — with winds of up to 60 km/h. In the city of Campinas, wind speeds can reach 50 km/h.
This zone of instability should remain over these regions throughout the weekend. However, meteorologists warn of areas of more intense instability on the coast, where winds will become stronger from Monday 9th, with speeds of up to 60 km/h.

Forecast for the weekend
From Friday the 6th, the tendency is for the weather to remain stable, with no significant accumulations of rain and no chance of constant precipitation during the day. In the afternoon, rain will be isolated throughout the State of São Paulo.
On Saturday 7th, in the morning, the weather should become more stable — with the sun appearing at times. At night, another cold front will advance over the State. And rain showers should be recorded, mainly in the eastern region and on the coast of São Paulo. Meteorologists warn of severe rain in the Ribeira Valley.
Rainy Sunday
Sunday 8 will be rainy in the State, with many areas of instability. In the morning, there should be intervals of heavy rain showers, especially in cities located in the east, south and coast of São Paulo. Due to the high temperatures, there will be conditions for lightning and hail.
