Britney’s sister: “I did what I could to help”

by time news

A week before she releases her first autobiographical book, Jamie-Lynn Spears, the younger sister of pop star Britney Spears, was interviewed today (Wednesday) for the ABC morning show “Good Morning America”. In the interview, the young Spears referred for the first time to her sister’s guardianship, which came to an end exactly two months ago.

“When guardianship started I was 17, I was about to give birth. So I was not fully aware of what was going on. I was focused on the fact that I was 17 years old about to give birth for the first time,” Spears said in an interview. According to her, even today as then she is unaware of the significance of the legal arrangement to which her sister has been subject for 13 years.

“I was always my sister’s biggest supporter. So when she needed help, I found ways to do it, I went out of my way to make sure she formed the bonds with which she could end this guardianship, and everything the family is going through,” she said. “If it causes such a dispute between us, why should it continue?”.

When asked if she supported guardianship, she replied: “Everyone has a voice and he needs to be heard. If she wanted to talk to other people – I helped her, I took care of it. I even talked to her previous legal team. But it did not end well for me. I took every step to help “But how many times can I do it – if she did not take a step too.”

At the legal hearings in her case, which took place last summer, Britney Spears repeatedly attacked her family, including her sister. In her testimony last June, Spears said she believes some of her relatives should sit in jail for the “abusive guardianship” she has suffered in recent years.

The nurse also referred in the interview to the disconnect that has developed between her and her older sister in recent years. “She was like a second mother to me. I love my sister,” she said in tears. “I have always loved and supported her and done what I could for her benefit, and she knows it. So I do not understand why we are in this situation now.”

Jamie-Lynn Spears, 30, a mother of two, a singer and actress was a child star. In the years 2009-2005 she starred in the TV series “Zoe 101” which was broadcast on the Nickelodeon channel. Last year she starred in the drama series “Wonderful Magnolias” aired on Netflix. Next week she will release her first autobiographical book called Things I Should Have Said (“Things I Should Have Said”), in which she will address her childhood as a singer, actress and young mother and her life in the shadow of the successful pop star.
